Zephyr Hats: Edmonton Oilers Edition

First it was Auburn, then BYU, CU, and The Detroit Red Wings; this week is for the Edmonton Oilers. This past week I was able to get some great stuff on my website, so be sure to check that out. I went over some of Zephyr's collaborations, as well as the "Snapback of the Week", which was not a snapback, but a strapback!

Before I begin with this excellent
Zephyr Edmonton Oilers Solid Headliner snapback, I just want to say that it was somewhat difficult to find Oilers snapbacks on the web!
This Headliner snapback pictured right, and above, has the quality raised-embroidery cursive lettering, along with the everything else common to the incomparable craftsmanship of Zephyr snapbacks. Some things that can't be identified from the pictures are that this hat has a green under-brim and orange snap. Be sure to check out other Solid Headliner snapbacks.

The Zephyr Razzle snapbacks feature the raised-embroidered razzle font on the front that has a orange shadow effect to it too. This snapback also features the Oilers logo patched on the side. It has a two-colored snap in the back (blue and black), which is becoming an increasing popular characteristic for snapbacks. This Oilers Razzle has a green under-brim and square brim.

You are probably familiar with these next two pictures because they came from Hatland, one of the bigger online retailers for Zephyr. This Oilers Flashback snapback is an older design with a round brim, green under-brim, and the Zephyr tag near the snap in the back. I really enjoy this design, and would be enormously excited if they made a newer version of this hat with a square brim!

Also from Hatland was this Edmonton Oilers Supersonic snapback, a retro design that was made a while ago. It has the highly-popular two-colored snap. The brim is rounded, has a green under-brim and orange over-brim. Just like the Flashback, I would really enjoy an updated version of this with a square brim!

An example of an Oilers Blockbuster 2 snapback can be seen to the right. As usual, the difference between the original Blockbuster and Blockbuster 2 snapbacks are very slight, yet very important! The original Blockbusters have transparent scripts, while the 2's have filled-in scripts. The originals have round brims, whereas the 2's have square brims. These are the two main distinguishing characteristics between the two designs.

I have been told that these have been made with square brims, but the X-Rays on Hatmonster have rounded brims. These have two colored snaps (I am not sure what the colors of the snap are for this Oilers hat). The back has a transparent lettering of the name of the mascot; in this case, "Oilers." Like I said, this design is somewhat overlooked and does not get as much hype as it should.

At the last minute, I noticed Hatmonster had a Upshot snapback for the Edmonton Oilers. This is a newer design that features the following qualities: square brim (grey under-brim, orange over brim), orange snap, white air-holes, orange button, blue crown, and the Upshot design for the Oilers. I have a Florida Gators Upshot, which has the exact same colorway as this Oilers hat; I would definitely recommend this hat!
